Bry did a great job finding fish and keeping fresh bait on the lines. He was a great instructor on how to catch Stripers. We went during August when fishing is typically not as good, but we had a wonderful catch. The fish cleaning was quick and the packing clean and neat for the trip home.
4 years ago on the same weekend I got to fish with Mr. Marty and we limited out and we were home early. This time I got to go with his Son-in-law Bry with the same result. Great family business awesome Captains. Would recommend for anyone who loves fishing and good company.
On a bright cold wintery January morning, my grandson Austin and I drove a couple of hours north from Fort Worth to Cedar Mills Marina on Lake Texoma for a day of fishing for Striped Bass with Captain Marty’s Fishing Guides. We were met by our guide, Bry and after some preliminary briefing on safety, and what to expect, we headed out on a 20-25 minute chilly boat ride to the fishing grounds. After arriving there, the fun really started. Bry was very knowledgeable and helpful, especially with Austin. He explained how we would be fishing, using Shad for bait, how to use the rod and reel and especially how to feel the bite and set the hook. It took a little while to find a good spot and start getting bites. Austin missed a few fish at the beginning, but Bry was very patient and helped Austin to get his technique for setting the hook correct. And then we spent about 2 ½ hours of catching fish! After catching our limits, Bry said we still had bait so we kept fishing and releasing. Austin was beyond thrilled. Bry was just great, busily keeping our lines baited and taking fish off as we caught them. All the while, he told us stories and we talked a lot about..well, fishing! When we returned, Bry did an excellent job of cleaning our fish and we had a couple of big bags of beautiful filets to take home. I fried up one of those bags that evening for dinner and they are delicious . All in all about as good a day fishing as you can get.
