GOOD. Water stained; 65 degrees; 1.04 feet below pool. Striped bass are good in 4-60 feet of water deadsticking flukes, or fishing with Alabama rigs on windy days.
The more cloud coverage the better the bite. Report by John Blasingame, Adventure Texoma Outdoors. Striped bass are great on flukes drifting the river channels using 5 inch split tail flukes on a two ounce jig head to get the bait down.
Very light bite, so set the hook on any bump you get. The afternoon and evening bite has been the best with the cold temperatures. Crappie are slow on jigs fishing brush piles in 20 feet of water. Using electronics to target active fish, but catching a lot short of the minimum length to keep.

Striped bass are good in 15-30 feet of water on structures, ledges, and drop-offs using Alabama rigs, or deadsticking flukes.

Striped bass have been great in 50-70 feet of water, deadsticking flukes or catching big fish on structure using sassy shad in 15-25 feet of water on humps and creek ledges. Crappie are fair on jigs on the brush in the little mineral arm of the lake.

GOOD. Water stained; 65 degrees; 0.80 feet below pool. Box striped bass are good in 15-30 feet of water on ledges and drop-offs using Alabama rigs, or deadsticking flukes.
Larger fish are being caught just before dark in deeper water under birds—report by John Blasingame, Adventure Texoma Outdoors.
Striped bass fishing is fair on flukes and paddle tail swimbaits. The deadsticking fluke bite has been hit and miss depending on the time of day in 60-80 feet of water fishing suspended at 40-50 feet down.
Big stripers are on structures in 15-20 feet of water on humps and ledges along creeks. Catfish are fair on cut shad and whole shad drifting in 10-20 feet of water and fishing deep in 50-60 feet of water along river channels. EXCELLENT. Water stained; 65 degrees; 0.41 feet below pool. Striped bass are very good in deep water casting Alabama rigs straight in 40-60 feet of water. On a windy day deadstick the Alabama rig. Report by John Blasingame, Adventure Texoma Outdoors.
Striped bass fishing is great on two ounce jig heads in chartreuse, a white ice fluke, or live shad in 40-60 feet of water. Drifting on the ends of the lake near the river inlets has been more productive than the clear water in the main lake.
Catfish are good drifting cut baits in 50-60 feet of water around bait balls. Big blue catfish will be staging up around the mouths of the rivers in 10-20 feet of water as it gets colder. Largemouth and smallmouth bass fishing is fair on swimbaits along the rocks on sunny days and live shad along the dam wall.

December 8, 2022
The water condition is stained and about 65 degrees. The striper fishing is excellent, with many in the 20-inch range. Drift in 30-60 feet of water with an Alabama rig, also live shad under the gulls or along the flats. It is best around 20-35 feet of water on the west and north end of the lake.
In deep water, using cut shad and prepared bait is where you will find blue and channel catfish. For crappie, use minnows and light-colored crappie jigs; they are working well.

Using live shad, striped fishing is excellent in 25-35 feet of water. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs in 10-15 feet of water in the mouths of creeks and main lake structures. Eater-sized channel and blue catfish are excellent on cut shad and punch bait in 40-50 feet of water on main lake ledges.
Largemouth and smallmouth bass are slow off the banks in 10-15 feet of water on rock piles and structures with swimbaits and soft plastic baits.

Early morning is the best time for striped bass with topwater lures as your best bet. As the stripers move deeper as the day warms up switch to swimbaits for success. Keep an eye out for egrets to point you in the right direction for schools of striper. Soon slab bite will also pick up.
