Striped bass are hit-or-miss while the water is turning and fish feed at night during the full moon. Look for fish are on the surface, then look for bigger fish beneath using slabs and topwaters.
Report by John Blasingame, Adventure Texoma Outdoors.
Striped bass are good on live shad, topwaters and slabs. Look for schooling fish along flats in 10-30 feet of water and in deep water along river channels. Stripers always feed into the wind, so get out in front of them and use electronics to locate bigger fish under the schooling size fish. Crappie are fair on hair jigs and minnows on brush in 12-15 feet of water. Using electronics to locate active fish and seeing a lot of fish uninterested in the bait. Catfish are fair on prepared baits, punch bait and cut shad. Fishing a reel or two off the bottom along rocky banks for channels and ledges for blues. Largemouth and smallmouth bass are good on live shad along the south end of the lake for the first few hours of the morning at daylight. Cloudy days topwaters early. Lake levels are good but water temperatures are up there, causing fish to feed inconsistently throughout the day but late evening and afternoon will be good with the full moon week.

Bigger stripers are good with topwater action in the morning, and some in big schools in deeper water using slabs.

Striped bass are great fishing live bait, slabs and topwaters. Look for schooling fish hitting the surface under birds or in the backs of the coves down the rocky banks. The stripers are moving fast and staying above the thermocline to feed. Crappie are fair on jigs and dead minnows. Fishing planted brush in the little mineral arm 12-15 feet of water. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared baits in 15-25 feet of water drifting the bait along the bottom and reel up. Largemouth and smallmouth are slow along the bluffs fishing live bait and topwaters. Small/fast moving bait presentations.

Happy Fourth of July! Striped bass are in the summer pattern. Small stripers are biting swimbaits under working rafts of threadfin shad. Bigger stripers are good with topwater action, and some out in really deep water with great big schools using slabs
Report by John Blasingame, Adventure Texoma Outdoors.
Water temperatures are hot, and the fish are very active in the early mornings and late evenings. Striper fishing is excellent on live bait, slabs, and top waters. Look for birds hovering along flats and river channels. Drifting with the schools of fish and watch your over 20-inch fish two per person limit. Crappie are slow on the boathouses in 15-20 feet of water fishing minnows. A lot of fry and small shad in the lake so jigs have been getting a better reaction bite. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared baits in 15-25 feet of water. Anchor up and fish right off the bottom around creeks and flats. Largemouth and smallmouth are good on live shad along the south end of the lake and along the railroad bridge rocks. Off the banks in 5-10 feet of water catch them on small swim baits and jerk baits as well.

Prepared baits in 15-20 feet of water working for channel catfish. Largemouth and smallmouth bass are fair on live shad along the bluffs on the banks around the gravel. Striped bass are slow on artificials, but the bite is better for anglers using live bait. Bigger fish continue to bite on topwaters along the banks in the morning. When the morning bite tapers off, look for pods of threadfin shad midlake. Casting into these pockets of shad with swimbaits will land catches of stripers.
Report by John Blasingame, Adventure Texoma Outdoors.
Striper fishing is excellent using live bait on deep flats 65-75 feet of water with fish suspended 40-50 feet down. The shad spawn is still on, so early morning topwaters or swimbaits along rocky banks, especially where the birds are lined up. Crappie fishing is fair on paddle tail jigs and minnow suspended in the bush piles in 12-15 feet of water. Catfish are fair on cut shad and prepared baits in 60-70 feet of water a couple reels off the bottom. Largemouth and smallmouth bass fishing is good along the south end of the lake using live shad for numbers and top waters early catching bigger fish.
